China.org.cn: The "2024 Kuaishou Minor Protection Transparency Report" Released: Upgrading the Youth Mode
On December 13th, Kuaishou released the "2024 Kuaishou Minor Protection Transparency Report" (the "Report"). The Report shows that over the past year, Kuaishou has continuously optimized its minor protection mechanisms, exploring improvements in four areas: ensuring safe usage, strengthening risk governance, providing high-quality content, and collaborating with society for better governance. These efforts aim to guide minors to use the internet scientifically, civilly, and safely, while accompanying their healthy growth.
The Report introduces that in 2024, Kuaishou continued to explore upgrades to its youth mode. Based on optimizing real-name authentication for minors and enhancing the protection of minors' information, Kuaishou actively promoted coordinated upgrades with mobile terminal devices. Currently, Kuaishou is working with several terminal manufacturers, including Huawei, OPPO, Xiaomi, and VIVO, to debug and connect through necessary interfaces and data sharing. The collaboration aims to upgrade the youth mode in areas such as time management, content management, and permission management, with related functions to be launched successively.
Over the past year, Kuaishou's youth mode strictly filtered content that posed risks to minors. By refining rules, establishing preemptive controls, and creating efficient feedback channels for reports, Kuaishou has built a robust protective barrier for minors' safe and healthy internet usage
