Jin Xia, a resident of Hongsibao District in Wuzhong, Ningxia, is a mother of two children. After graduating from Xiaogan Normal College (孝感師範學院) in Hubei in 2002, she taught at a primary school in her hometown for three years. Due to various reasons, she had to discontinue her teaching journey and put her dream of becoming a teacher on hold. However, a serendipitous encounter changed everything. Jin Xia stumbled upon a live streaming room on the short video platform where someone was teaching adults how to read. Intrigued by this, she found a new calling and became an adult literacy teacher herself.
